Local RE/MAX Office Shows Support for Community

RE/MAX Professionals take pride in community involvement as they embark on their third year as a top-tier contributor to two local non-profits. Just last week, the team of skilled real estate agents donated Easter gift baskets to the H.O.P.E. Team, which provides support and resources for patients undergoing treatment at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) at Western Regional Medical Center (Western) and to Arizona Assistance in Health Care, which assists cancer patients currently being treated in the Valley of the Sun with their non-medical expenses during times of financial hardship. RE/MAX Professionals was able to raise just over $1,900 with their Easter EGG-straveganza.

“There is certainly a need for donations throughout the year, but this is the time of year when there is no major holiday tied to giving and charities can be overlooked,” said Frank Russo, Co-Owner of RE/MAX Professionals. “Our agents live and work in the area and know the importance of supporting their fellow neighbors year-round.”

RE/MAX Professionals donated a variety of Easter baskets for the auction, including gift cards, toys, spa items and family-fun activities. The H.O.P.E. Team and Arizona Assistance in Health Care have monthly in-house fundraisers and the baskets provided this year raised more than $1,900.00. Shannon Wellman, a RE/MAX Professionals agent, active volunteer with the H.O.P.E. Team and Board Member for Arizona Assistance in Health Care, along with all branch managers and support staff at RE/MAX Professionals spearheaded the partnership knowing the impact it would have with the patients.

“I've volunteered with the H.O.P.E. Team for four years now and have been on the board for Arizona Assistance in Health Care for two years,” Wellman said. “It's critical to keep the awareness alive. These nonprofits depend on donations from local community members and that includes us.”

The H.O.P.E. Team is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to bring Help, Optimism, Peace and Encouragement to cancer patients and their families. The H.O.P.E. Team was created to support the patients at CTCA® at Western. Arizona Assistance in Health Care is a non-profit that was created to offer cancer patients financial support with their non-medical expenses.
